Attendees will become Certified Scrum Masters (CRM) at the workshop’s end. Registration for the Scrum workshop can be completed at Omnikron’s Web site (www.omnikronuniversity.com) by clicking on the “Scrum”. Registration before or on May 28 is $995. Registration after May 28 is $1250.
“Scrum is among the fastest-growing Agile project management frameworks in the software industry,” says Robin L. Borough, executive vice president, Omnikron Systems, Inc. “A simple software management technique, Scrum includes a small set of interrelated practices and rules that can help produce productivity gains for software development teams almost immediately. Scrum is widely used by companies like Google, IBM, and Microsoft.”
The workshop will discuss the basic Scrum engine and the two key principles to understanding Scrum. The workshop will also discuss time-tested practices for managing product backlogs, planning for releases and iterations (Sprints), and tracking and reporting progress, as well as how to plan and run Sprint planning meetings, daily Scrum meetings, Sprint reviews, and Sprint retrospectives.
Jim Schiel, a Certified Scrum Trainer (CST) with a strong background in enterprise-level Scrum installations and agile development in a regulated environment, will teach the workshop. Schiel worked at Siemens Health Services for 23 years, where he played a leading role in creating one of the world’s largest Scrum software development implementations. He also pioneered the use of Scrum with software development teams. He is also the author of Enterprise-Scale Agile Software Development.
After completing the course and passing an online exam, attendees will become registered Certified Scrum Masters (CSMs). Certification includes a two-year membership in the Scrum Alliance (www.scrumalliance.org) with exclusive access to key Scrum Masters material and information.
