DOUG LAMBERT
Doug Lambert started playing guitar at the young age of 5 years old. He did a few fill- ins for a band if the guitarist couldn’t make it. At the age of 16 and today, those events still means a lot to him. He taught himself to play keyboard, bass guitar and drums while still in his teens. He has played with a few bands here and there, but when his daughter was born, he quit the club scene and spent more time with her. He began to write music again when his daughter was 8 years old. These songs that he’s arranged, performed every instrument, recorded himself began to pile up. Doug once again turned to country music and began playing with local bands as lead guitarist and backup vocals.
• He was lead guitarist and backup vocals for a few local bands
• Lead guitarist and backup vocals for Spiritual Lights for about 3 years
• Tommy Gragg & EZ Country for under 1 year
• Lead Guitarist and lead/backup vocals for County Line Cowboys for about 3 years
• Lead guitarist and lead/backup vocals for Wings of Fire for about 2 years
• Lead guitarist and lead/backup vocals for Rapid Heart for about 3 years
• Lead guitarist and lead/backup vocals for Country Connection for about 3 years
• Lead guitarist and backup vocals for Caiged Angel for under 1 year
• Played Ralphs Country Club, Raven, Virginia
• JR’s at Claypool Hill, Virginia
• Jamboree Hill, Shorts Gap, Virginia
• Dottie O’s, Bluefield, Virginia
• John’s Lounge, Tazewell, Virginia
• Moose Club, Claypool Hill, Virginia
I think you get the picture…..Doug Lambert has spread his talent through every avenue he could.
One particular song, “It’s Your Smile” was written for his daughter on her 8th birthday and it describes the times that he spent with her. “You and I” represents a need to be in a relationship but being afraid can cause regrets for not trying. Other songs such as “Don’t Ever Change Your Mind” and others, portray a singer/songwriter who pours out his soul through his music.
I would encourage those who yearn for peaceful, gentle, fun music to listen to and buy Doug Lamberts music. He can put a smile on anyone’s face.
